The one-ounce Australian kangaroo is also largest in diameter, compared to other 1oz silver coins like silver Britannias or silver Krugerrand. Its large size and reeded edge gives it a flat design.

The reverse showcases a red kangaroo jumping, Australia’s national animal. The inscriptions “AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO 2022 1oz 9999 SILVER” surround the kangaroo. The reverse of the coin was designed by Stuart Devlin.
The obverse features queen Elizabeth II. The portrait is surrounded by the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 1 DOLLAR”. The obverse of coin was designed by Jody Clark.
Since 2016, the Perth Mint produces the silver Kangaroo in unlimited quantity every year to satisfy the demand from investors and collectors.
Over the years, the 1 oz silver kangaroo coin has become extremely popular in the bullion market. It has acquired a worldwide reputation, which makes it an excellent bullion coin for silver investment.
Each of the 2022 Silver Kangaroo coin feature a micro engraved letter ‘A’. You can find this mark within the first ‘A’ of the word “AUSTRALIAN” on the reverse (at the bottom left of the letter). The small letter shows up under magnification (see left picture).
The Perth Mint added this micro-engraved mark to ensure the coin’s authenticity and detect real and counterfeit coins.
This authenticity mark should not be confound with the mintmark “P” (for Perth Mint, see right picture).
